The operative unit presented focuses essentially on the connection of the Douro River marginal, with the Oriental Park and consequently, the communication between Rio Tinto and Rio Torto.
Thus, the most obvious intervention, which will correspond to the future ZIP, is the development of a large green structure that has as its main objective to make the VCI less striking, while providing a higher quality of life for the inhabitants, with new leisure and commercial spaces, focused on pedestrian and bicycle paths, in order to reduce the existing visual and auditory road impact.
This structure will have commercial spaces to support it, bike paths, open air amphitheaters, amusement parks, places for sports practice, places to stop, among others, that will be connected to the rest of the city through streets, urban gardens, and the dispersion of this structure in the Oreintal Park, already existing and worked on by the group.

Our intervention foresees, therefore, improving the existing housing areas, trying to compose facades through new constructions, or rehabilitations, restructuring roads or creating new roads and pedestrian ways, and bringing more green spaces in areas, formerly abandoned, as is the case of the green area near the marginal, where passages have been created to the opposite side of the railway line and where the railway line up to the customs house (in purple) has been rehabilitated, bringing more movement and organization to this area, seeking, through new commercial and cultural buildings, to reestablish the flow of people, which is currently nullified.
